In a tit-for-tat exchange of words, BJP leader Navneet Rana issued a fresh challenge to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, asserting the presence of “Ram bhakts” (devotees of Lord Ram) in every street.
Rana’s remarks came as a response to Owaisi’s characterization of his younger brother Akbaruddin as a “cannon” during a rally at Moghalpura.
Rana dismissed Owaisi’s analogy, quipping that such “cannons” were merely decorative items outside her residence.
Highlighting her lineage as a soldier’s daughter, Rana emphasized the widespread presence of “Ram bhakts” and supporters of Prime Minister Modi across the nation’s streets.
She declared her impending visit to Hyderabad, setting the stage for a potential showdown in Owaisi’s stronghold.
This verbal skirmish ensued shortly after Rana’s controversial statement during her campaign for BJP’s Hyderabad Lok Sabha candidate Madhavi Latha.
Rana had provocatively suggested that removing police presence for even “15 seconds” would leave the Owaisi brothers disoriented about their whereabouts.
Her comments referenced a contentious 2013 speech by AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, wherein he purportedly made inflammatory remarks about altering the Hindu-Muslim demographic balance in the country.
In response to Rana’s challenge, Asaduddin Owaisi called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the timeframe to “one hour” instead of “15 seconds,” asserting his lack of fear towards Rana’s rhetoric.
Meanwhile, the verbal sparring led to legal repercussions for Rana, as a case was registered against her by the Telangana Police for allegedly stating that “a vote for Congress is a vote for Pakistan.”
This development further escalates the tension between the BJP and AIMIM camps, adding a legal dimension to their ongoing verbal duel.
