“Kumaraswamy Condemns SIT Probe into ‘Obscene Videos’ Case Involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, Accuses Bias Towards Siddaramaiah”

Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy held a press conference on Tuesday to address the circulation of ‘obscene videos’ involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna.

Kumaraswamy strongly condemned the dissemination of a pen drive across Bengaluru Rural, Mandya, and Hassan, allegedly orchestrated by police officers on April 21.

He revealed that a complaint was lodged by Prajwal Revanna’s election agent Poornachandra on April 22.

During the press conference, Kumaraswamy expressed his dismay over the incident, describing it as a “dirty incident” that should not have occurred in society.

He highlighted the intentional circulation of the pen drive by police officers in various districts and emphasized the need for accountability.

Kumaraswamy also drew attention to the lack of action taken by the police and the Returning Officer despite the filing of complaints against individuals involved in sharing the videos and pen drive.

He criticized the response from authorities, stating that no action had been taken against the accused even after the filing of FIRs.

In particular, Kumaraswamy expressed concern over the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the matter.

He alleged bias in the investigation, referring to it as a “Siddaramaiah investigation team and Shivakumar investigation team.” He voiced his disappointment with the perceived lack of transparency and fairness in the investigation process.

Overall, Kumaraswamy stressed the importance of uncovering the truth behind the incident and ensuring accountability for those responsible for sharing the objectionable content.

He called for a thorough and impartial investigation to address the matter effectively.
