“Sunita Kejriwal Takes Charge: Spearheading AAP’s Campaign Amidst Arvind Kejriwal’s Absence”

In Short

  • Sunita Kejriwal to hold roadshow in support of AAP’s East Delhi candidate
  • She will also spearhead AAP’s campaign in Gujarat, Punjab
  • Sunita has been assuming bigger role in AAP after husband’s arrest

With the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) campaign facing challenges following the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal has stepped into the spotlight, leading the party’s rallies and public gatherings in various states.

In a bid to galvanize support for AAP candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Sunita Kejriwal is set to hold her maiden roadshow in Delhi on Saturday, marking the beginning of her campaign efforts.

Announced by Delhi Minister Atishi, Sunita Kejriwal’s roadshow will kick off in the East Delhi constituency, with plans for another event in the West Delhi constituency the following day.

The former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer is expected to energize AAP’s campaign machinery, particularly amidst the alliance with the Congress in Delhi.

However, Sunita Kejriwal’s influence extends beyond the boundaries of Delhi. With AAP’s campaign experiencing a lull, she is slated to lead rallies and public gatherings in Punjab, Gujarat, and Haryana as well.

At a press conference, Atishi highlighted Sunita Kejriwal’s role in seeking blessings for Arvind Kejriwal and rallying support for AAP candidates across these states.

In Gujarat, where AAP is contesting from two seats, Bharuch and Bhavnagar, and in Haryana, with a candidate fielded in Kurukshetra, Sunita Kejriwal’s presence is expected to invigorate the party’s electoral prospects.

In Punjab, where AAP is contesting all 13 Lok Sabha seats independently, her campaign efforts aim to consolidate support amidst failed alliance negotiations with the Congress.

Sunita Kejriwal’s emergence as a prominent figure in AAP’s campaign comes at a crucial juncture, following Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest and subsequent imprisonment in the Delhi liquor policy case.

Assuming a more prominent role within the party, she has actively participated in rallies, including those organized by the INDIA bloc in Delhi and Jharkhand.

At recent rallies, such as the “Ulgulan Nyay Mahrally” in Ranchi, Sunita Kejriwal vehemently criticized the central government, alleging mistreatment of her husband in custody.

Expressing concerns about his health, particularly as a diabetic requiring insulin, she accused authorities of neglecting his medical needs, further intensifying the political fervor surrounding her husband’s arrest.

As Sunita Kejriwal continues to champion AAP’s cause in Arvind Kejriwal’s absence, her role assumes significance in shaping the party’s electoral fortunes and sustaining momentum amidst challenging circumstances.
