Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge has penned an open letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, responding to recent remarks made by the Prime Minister regarding the Congress party’s manifesto.

Kharge expressed concerns over PM Modi’s claims that the Congress manifesto includes provisions to distribute the country’s wealth to “infiltrators” and families with more children.

Kharge vehemently refuted these allegations, asserting that the Prime Minister has been misinformed by his advisors about matters that are not outlined in the party’s manifesto.

Kharge’s letter was prompted by PM Modi’s statements made during an election rally in Rajasthan, where he purported that the Congress manifesto intends to scrutinize the gold possessions of mothers and daughters and distribute the wealth to certain demographics.

Kharge condemned PM Modi’s use of what he termed as “vulgar language” and emphasized that such rhetoric would be remembered unfavorably by the public long after the elections.

The Congress chief clarified that the Prime Minister’s understanding of the Congress manifesto was flawed and offered to provide a detailed explanation of the party’s electoral promises to avoid spreading misinformation.

Kharge criticized PM Modi’s government for allegedly favoring corporate interests over those of the impoverished population, citing disparities in taxation policies and the adverse impact of demonetization on the poor.

Kharge rebutted PM Modi’s attempts to equate discussions on economic inequality with communal divisions, stressing that the Congress manifesto is aimed at uplifting all sections of society regardless of religious affiliations.

He accused the NDA government of neglecting issues such as atrocities against women and the plight of farmers, highlighting failures in loan waivers and protection measures for farming families.

The Congress leader concluded by condemning PM Modi’s alleged habit of exploiting out-of-context statements to incite communal tensions and emphasized the party’s commitment to empowering marginalized communities through initiatives outlined in the Congress Nyay Patra.

Kharge’s open letter reflects the ongoing political discourse surrounding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and underscores the contentious nature of electoral campaigning in India.
