Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has taken legal action against Congress leaders Konda Surekha, Yennam Srinivas Reddy, and KK Mahender Reddy for allegedly making defamatory remarks against him.
KTR accused them of falsely implicating him in unrelated matters, specifically referring to the phone tapping issue.
In response to the defamatory comments made by the Congress leaders, KTR has sent legal notices demanding an apology within a week. He warned that failure to issue an apology would result in him pursuing defamation charges against them, if deemed necessary.
Asserting that attacks on his character will not be tolerated, KTR emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and honesty in public discourse.
This legal action follows a recent war of words between KTR and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding allegations of phone tapping in the state.
During a party meeting, KTR suggested that any instances of phone tapping may have been limited to a few individuals involved in criminal activities.
He dismissed the Congress’ allegations as exaggerated attempts to divert attention from their unfulfilled promises.
In response, Revanth Reddy accused KTR of admitting to phone tapping activities and called for accountability, alleging that the previous BRS government had tapped phones and filed cases against those who opposed them.
