  • Over 100 Vistara flights cancelled or delayed
  • Incidents occurred in the past week
The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has requested a comprehensive report from Vistara regarding the recent wave of flight cancellations and significant delays.

According to an official source speaking to ANI news agency, Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, has been forced to cancel or delay over 100 flights in the past week, prompting government intervention.

This development comes after the airline acknowledged the ongoing disruptions, citing operational challenges, and pledged to rectify the situation amidst growing discontent among passengers.

In an official statement issued on Monday, Vistara acknowledged the disruptions, stating, “We confirm that we have experienced several flight cancellations and unavoidable delays in recent days due to various operational reasons.

Our teams are diligently working to stabilize the situation, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused to our valued customers.”

The airline further announced temporary reductions in flight operations to ensure network connectivity and deployed larger aircraft on select domestic routes to accommodate affected passengers.

Additionally, Vistara offered alternate flight options or refunds to impacted customers.

Aviation sources, as reported by ANI, attribute the disruptions to pilots’ refusal to operate flights due to extended flying hours, adding to the airline’s operational challenges.
