“Discontent Among BJP MLA SR Vishwanath’s Supporters as K Sudhakar Nominated in Chikkaballapur”

The BJP’s decision to field K Sudhakar from Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls has sparked unrest among supporters of BJP MLA SR Vishwanath. The move, which denied a ticket to Vishwanath’s son Alok, has triggered dissatisfaction within the party ranks.

Despite Vishwanath’s efforts to secure a ticket for his son from the same seat, the party opted for Sudhakar as its candidate. Subsequently, Vishwanath’s supporters initiated a ‘Go back Sudhakar’ campaign, expressing their displeasure with the decision.

Attempts by Sudhakar to meet Vishwanath were reportedly unsuccessful, as the former minister was allegedly not available at home. Sudhakar also made multiple unsuccessful attempts to reach Vishwanath by phone.

With Karnataka set to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections across two phases on April 26 and May 7, the BJP’s decision has intensified tensions within the party. It’s worth noting that the BJP and the JD(S) have formed an alliance in the state, with the BJP expected to contest 25 seats and the JD(S) three seats, according to sources.

In the previous 2019 general elections, the BJP emerged victorious in Karnataka, securing 25 out of the 28 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress and JD(S) alliance managed to secure one seat each.
