Former White House Lawyer Ty Cobb Criticizes Trump’s Behavior Amid Mar-a-Lago Case Developments

In a recent interview with CNN, former White House lawyer Ty Cobb didn’t mince words when discussing his former boss, President Donald Trump. Cobb likened Trump’s behavior to that of a “mob boss” in light of new developments in the federal case against Trump, which involves allegations related to the handling of classified documents and obstruction of justice.

The case centers on Trump’s alleged advice to his former assistant, Molly Michael, instructing her to deny any knowledge of boxes containing classified documents discovered at his Mar-a-Lago resort, according to a New York Times report.

Cobb commented on Trump’s reported directive, stating, “I hear Trump, you know, really for the first time in terms of the way this evidence has rolled out now speaking in the terms of a mob boss,” highlighting Trump’s issuance of a direct order to someone whom he had no apparent reason to believe would deceive investigators on his behalf.

He further emphasized that lying to investigators was a line that Michael was unwilling to cross. Cobb’s perspective is that this recent revelation strengthens the credibility of special counsel Jack Smith’s case.

While acknowledging Molly Michael’s loyalty to the president, Cobb made a clear distinction between loyalty and illegal actions. According to Cobb, Michael’s refusal to participate in deceptive practices underscores the gravity of the situation.

The federal case against Trump continues to evolve, and these recent developments shed light on the complex legal issues at hand.
