Angelica Ross Accuses Ryan Murphy of Ghosting Her and Alleges Transphobic Comments by Emma Roberts

Actress Angelica Ross recently expressed her disappointment over being “left on read” by renowned producer Ryan Murphy. Ross claimed that Murphy initially showed interest in featuring her in an upcoming season of “American Horror Story” that would spotlight Black women but later stopped communicating with her.

Ross posted a screenshot on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, showing an exchange with Murphy from the summer of 2020. In the exchange, Murphy mentioned his idea for a horror season centered around Black women and asked Ross for casting suggestions. Excitedly, Ross responded with several names, including Debbi Morgan, Lynn Whitfield, Alfre Woodard, Keke Palmer, Angela Bassett, Viola Davis, Lupita Nyong’o, Kerry Washington, and Halle Berry.

However, according to Ross, Murphy did not follow up on this conversation, leaving her feeling ignored. She attempted to reach out to Murphy via email in 2022, expressing her interest in contributing to the writing and production of the proposed series, but received no response from him.

Ross also claimed that while she waited for Murphy’s response regarding the “Horror Story” season focused on Black women, she had to pass up opportunities to appear in Marvel movies. Despite her attempts to communicate with Murphy, she felt that her efforts were unanswered.

Additionally, Ross accused actress Emma Roberts, her former co-star on “American Horror Story: 1984,” of making transphobic remarks during their time on set. Ross, who is transgender, stated that Roberts jokingly complained about her behavior to director John J. Gray, who attempted to defuse the situation. Roberts allegedly responded, “Don’t you mean lady?”

Ross recounted feeling upset but refrained from addressing the issue further, fearing that she would be viewed as the problem. In response to these allegations, Ross shared on X that Roberts had called and apologized, acknowledging her inappropriate behavior. Ross expressed her willingness to engage in a dialogue with Roberts to support social justice causes.

Efforts to obtain comments from Roberts’ representative have been made but without a response.
