Republicans Plan Third Debate Near Trump’s Florida Home: Will He Attend?

In a bid to secure the presence of former President Donald Trump at a potential third debate, the Republican National Committee (RNC) is reportedly considering Miami as the debate location, conveniently near Trump’s Florida residence.

An RNC official, who chose to remain anonymous, disclosed that the Miami debate is in the works for early November. However, specifics regarding the venue, sponsors, and the exact date are yet to be finalized.

Previously, the RNC had contemplated the University of Alabama as a potential debate site. The current move to host it in Miami aims to draw the ex-president’s participation, given his proximity to the city. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence is situated in Palm Beach, Florida, approximately 70 miles from Miami.

Both the RNC and the Trump campaign have refuted reports suggesting they are engaged in negotiations to facilitate Trump’s attendance at the third debate. The Trump campaign issued a statement dismissing these reports as “fake news.”

It is worth noting that Donald Trump declined to participate in the first GOP debate held on August 23 in Milwaukee, citing his substantial lead in pre-election polls. Additionally, he is not expected to make an appearance at the upcoming debate scheduled for September 27 at the Ronald Reagan library in California.
