New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers shares health update after successful surgery.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has provided an encouraging update on his health following surgery to repair his Achilles tendon. Rodgers, who suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during the Jets’ season-opening win over the Buffalo Bills on “Monday Night Football,” took to Instagram to share the news.

In a post accompanied by a photo of himself smiling in a hospital bed while wearing a hospital gown, Rodgers expressed gratitude for the surgical team led by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, whom he referred to as the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) in his Instagram post. He stated that Wednesday’s surgery had gone “great” and marked the beginning of his “road to recovery.”

This announcement is the second statement Rodgers has released since sustaining the injury just four plays into his debut with the Jets on “Monday Night Football.” In his initial statement, the four-time MVP had expressed being “completely heartbroken” by the injury but had also hinted at a return to the football field, stating, “The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again.”

In his most recent Instagram post, Rodgers conveyed his appreciation for the outpouring of support he had received from fans, friends, and well-wishers. He mentioned that he was deeply touched and humbled by the love and support he had received. While acknowledging the emotional toll of his injury, Rodgers requested that people keep him in their thoughts and prayers as he embarks on the healing process.

With Rodgers sidelined, the Jets have turned to backup quarterback Zach Wilson, the second overall pick in the 2021 draft, to take over as the starting quarterback. Wilson’s rookie season saw him start nine games, with a record of 5-4, though his statistics ranked among the NFL’s lowest. Despite this, head coach Robert Saleh expressed confidence in Wilson’s growth and development.

Saleh noted that Wilson had made significant strides in his mental approach to the game since last year. The coach praised Wilson’s enthusiasm for football, improved mindset, and growing confidence. Saleh highlighted the progress Wilson had made in addressing the issues he faced during his college career, emphasizing that the team was excited about his potential.
