When asked what she was a “yes for” in the upcoming year, Roberts hesitated briefly before revealing her plans, saying, “I’m hesitating because I haven’t said it out loud yet. We’re getting married this year. It’s something we have talked about, but we had put it off. She became ill, and it is saying yes to that and that next chapter.”

Roberts, who has faced her own health battles over the years, disclosed in February 2022 that she would be taking a step back from her role on “Good Morning America” to support Laign through chemotherapy. Amber Laign, the founder of the natural product company Plant Juice Oils, had been diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2021.

Reflecting on their enduring love and support for each other, Roberts shared in a heartfelt video on Twitter last year, “She and I have been together almost 17 years and have helped each other through our challenges like my journey with cancer. It’s my turn now to be there for her as she was with me.”

Robin Roberts herself underwent chemotherapy during her battle with breast cancer in 2007. In 2012, she faced another health challenge when diagnosed with a rare blood disorder, myelodysplastic syndrome, which led her to undergo a life-saving bone marrow transplant.
